Mark Your Calendar!

NEW  It may feel like winter outside, but spring is here - and so are parent/teacher conferences.  Click here to visit the SignUp Genius to choose a time slot that is convenient for you on April 26th or 27th. Be sure to note the teacher names at the top; grades 3, 4 and 5, please only sign up for your homeroom teacher.

NEW  Spring Conferences are a great time for Amerman families to show our teachers and staff how much we appreciate them by providing meals and snacks.  We will be providing lunch on Thursday 4/26, as well as breakfast and snacks on Friday 4/27. Your participation is key to making this a success. Please sign up here if you can help!

NEW  Be sure to visit the Book Fair in the Media Center before or after your conference. Hours are April 26th: 12-7pm, and April 27th: 12-3pm. Students may also shop during their scheduled media class. The Book Fair needs a lot of volunteers to make it a success, so please sign up here if you can help!

NEW  Visit our Leader in Me page for the latest updates on this exciting program!  You can find it under the Progams tab above, or click here.

NEW  Join us for the PTA Meeting on May 10th at 9am - we will be voting on candidates for the 2018-19 PTA Board.

We still need Parent Volunteers for 2018 ART APPRECIATION! It is a great opportunity to be with your children, get to know their teacher and classmates, and share a love and appreciation of ART. Volunteers will teach one 45 minute class per week over six weeks, and will schedule dates/times with the teacher. Job sharing makes it easy if you cannot commit to the entire six weeks. We provide all materials and the curriculum, and will hold orientation sessions prior to starting for those who need it. See this flyer for more information.  Sign up here, or email amermanart@gmail.com with any questions.

Attention 5th grade parents: In keeping with Amerman tradition, we are sending our fifth graders off to middle school with a day of fun and games at Northville High School! On June 13th, the entire 5th grade will head to the MPR at 11am for pizza and ice cream, then head over to NHS for swimming, games, sports, manicures, airbrush tattoos, and more. A party this size needs some helpers, and that's where you come in.  There are a lot of volunteer opportunities available - please sign up if you can help. We especially need drivers, clean-up crew, and a couple of dads to help out in the boys locker room. Sign up here if you can help!

Update: Dad's Club Fun Run - enjoy Maybury State Park and earn money for Amerman by participating in the 2018 Amerman Dad’s Club Fun Run on Sunday, May 20. Fill out the registration form here, or click here for a paper form.

A request to Invest in Your Child was sent out recently, but do you know what your PTA uses your tax-deductible donations for ? Click here to find out!

Please familiarize yourself with the drop-off/pick-up guidelines! Be sure to share this information with anyone who may be helping you out (grandparents, sitters, other caregivers). During arrival, the gates close 10 minutes before school starts for the safety of the students and parents walking to school. In the parking lot facing 8 Mile Road, cars should not be waiting in line to exit off of Center Street. This is not safe for students walking from the parking lot and blocks parking spots from other Amerman families. You may remain parked in your parking spot or exit off of 8 Mile Road turning right only. Kids are also being dropped off in the front of the school where the buses drop off - this is extremely unsafe and is not allowed. Please park or pull into the parking lot if you are dropping off your child. During dismissal, the gates close when the bell rings and remain closed for 5-8 minutes after the bell depending on the walking traffic. Student safety is our number one priority - please abide by the guidelines for the north parking lot and the drop-off/pick-up loop.

Have you registered on MemberHub yet? You can use it to make payments, access the student directory, and more. After you register yourself, be sure to create a profile for your student, and send an email to AmermanDirectoryHelp@gmail.com with their name, grade, and teacher to have them added to the appropriate classroom hub. Click here to sign up today!

The Amerman PTA is on Facebook - request to join the group here. This is a private group just for current Amerman families, so all requests to join will be reviewed by the PTA President.

The PTA is signed up for a number of fundraising programs which offer significant earning potential for our school. Please check the Fundraisers-at-a-Glance list to be sure that you’re signed up for as many of these fundraising opportunities as possible.  These are a wonderful and essentially effortless source of income for the PTA, and allow us to do great things for the students, teachers and school. Be sure to encourage your family and friends to sign up as well.
